A Journey Through

Portrait, Body,
Self-Perception,
Collective Anxiety,
and the Perspective of Observation.

Overview

My exploration of the boundaries of self-body

In the past, I was fascinated by Egon Schiele's paintings, especially his self-portraits, as if they could establish a certain connection with my former self, an abstract spirituality that initiated a series of explorations into self and the shared collective emotions of humanity.

This evolution led me to delve into questions about the relationship between individuals - what is the connection and meaning between one person and another, and between oneself and humanity? What is the interplay between self and humanity as a whole, and how does it manifest in the realm of art and individual experience?

However, I am not in a rush to find answers to these questions. Perhaps what I enjoy and cherish the most is the process of contemplating them, which is essentially the process of creation itself. When facing art, my only hope is that I never forget my original, pure intentions.

Throughout the creative process, I've continuously pondered the relationships between the self and the body, consciousness and perception, as well as the interplay between oneself and others. In the ever-shifting flow of time, each moment presents a fresh visage.

Amidst the uncertainty of the body and the unpredictability of humanity, how can the vocabulary of painting reveal their true essence? Concealed beneath the visible body lies a deeper realm encompassing culture, community, space, time, and the "other." This encompasses various aspects such as sensation, perception, experience, cognition, and more. How does this interplay influence both external and internalized individual perceptions and emotions?

In the process of creation, the embodiment of bodily sensation has consistently held a prominent place. The body, being an essential and indivisible aspect of human existence, plays an indispensable role. Within the context of representation through painting and my perceptual practice, the body becomes a medium of expression. Through an understanding of its embodiment, I've gradually developed a perceptual manipulation stemming from bodily sensation.

Within this subjectively projected ideological framework, I seek to construct a perceptual experience that is represented through the language of painting. Through the countless bodies in the realm of representation, I endeavor to connect with the emotional experiences of others, using painting and bodily sensation as an intermediary space for construction.

This involves the intricate pulling, distorting, and disintegration of individual boundaries, followed by a process of reintegration. This ultimately establishes a shared and abstract inner connection to the state of human existence, as well as a universal perceptual experience.

This includes my contemplation of the spirituality of contemporary human beings within society, along with a collective societal anxiety, all intertwined within these layers of intricate individual boundaries.

Interestingly, as I reflect on my artistic journey over the years, I've consistently sought to discover a boundary between the self and reality, along with the related concept of the "other," all in an attempt to respond to the current state of human existence within society.

Overall

I've come to realize that I'm quite fascinated by the mutability of the body, which inevitably draws my attention to the interplay between imagery and inner spirituality. The fragmented sense of self-body forms a fractured perception of the body within modern society, intricately coiled and layered. For me, they are both comforting and disconcerting, embracing and unsettling, and I strive to construct a field of inquiry through the language of life itself, a territory that unfolds through the folding of the self.

Numerous transformations occurring on the body's surface reveal the unspoken facets of our own existence, whether intentional or unintentional. Perhaps my works are merely a record of the variability of the body formed through a connection of painting and bodily sensation, representing the perceptual emotions linking with others. Within the act of creation, I relish in the experience of my own body and engage in the process of inner contemplation, where subjective consciousness functions as an inner vision.
